Growing Healthy
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Junior Auxiliary members work with local sixth graders to demonstrate the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. Through the dissection of pig hearts and lungs, students learn about risks associated with smoking, vaping, and obesity. In addition, they see how healthy choices and exercise can positively affect our bodies.
Members discuss the anatomy and physiology of the heart and lungs, diseases associated with both, and stress the importance of good nutrition and exercise. Growing Healthy has been one of Junior Auxiliary's service projects since 1995 and is very popular with students, teachers, and the local medical community.
