Share & Wear

Share and Wear focuses on providing clothing to local children in need. Junior Auxiliary members work with schools in Craighead County to facilitate requests for children.

 

Our members purchase the requested items such as underwear, socks, shoes, and coats that are specific to the child’s needs, wants, and sizes. Once purchased, our members deliver to school where counselor can provide them to the student while protecting their anonymity.

 

Junior Auxiliary members fulfill 150 or more requests each year. Additionally, our members will host coat drives, diaper drives, and shoe drives to meet community needs. Basic needs don’t stop with food and housing — clothing, shoes, etc. are fundamental to a child’s social, emotional, and mental development.

 

By providing appropriate clothing and addressing these needs, the children’s lives are enriched. When requests are filled, these children have better health, sense of safety, and increased self-esteem which positively impacts academic performance, attendance, and long-term success.
